  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (or sea salt)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups chocolate chips (mix of semisweet and dark) For a bakery effect
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pop the dough into the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Use a cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Best served warm. You can also enjoy these cookies with vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert experience. Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
