  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 4 cinnamon sticks For flavor
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 5 whole allspice berries
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger Can substitute with fresh ginger slices

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, combine the apple cider and cranberry juice.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved.
  3. Add the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, and ginger.
  4. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for at least 20 minutes.
  6. Strain the mixture to remove the spices and orange slices before serving.

Notes

Serve warm. Garnish with a fresh cinnamon stick or a slice of orange. For an adult twist, consider a splash of rum or whiskey. Adjust the sweetness and spices according to your preference.
