Ingredients

Seeds and Base
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup flaxseeds
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup water to absorb by the seeds
  • 1/2 cup almond flour or any flour of choice
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder optional
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder optional
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all the seeds: chia, flax, sesame, and sunflower seeds.
  2. Add the water to the seeds and stir well to ensure everything is mixed evenly.
  3. Let the seed mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the chia and flaxseeds to absorb the water and form a gel-like consistency.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Once the mixture has thickened, add the almond flour, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder (if using), olive oil, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir everything until the dough comes together.
  3. Transfer the dough onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it out evenly, pressing it into a thin, flat layer.
  4. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, score the dough into cracker-sized squares.
  5. Bake for about 30-40 minutes, checking halfway through to ensure the crackers don’t burn. They should be golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow the crackers to cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking them into individual pieces along the scored lines.

Notes

Keep your seed crackers fresh by storing them in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze them for longer storage. Let them thaw at room temperature before enjoying.
