Dumplings and Broth
  • 1 package 12 oz pork or chicken dumplings Can use vegan dumplings for a plant-based option.
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth Substitute with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated Adds a nice zing.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced For aromatic flavor.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Can use gluten-free soy sauce if needed.
Greens and Garnishes
  • 2 cups fresh spinach or bok choy Provides a colorful touch.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil Enhances flavor when drizzled before serving.
  • 2 green onions chopped For garnishing.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant (about 1 minute).
Cooking
  1. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Add the dumplings and cook until they are tender (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Stir in the fresh spinach or bok choy along with soy sauce, cooking until the greens are wilted (2-3 minutes).
  4. Drizzle the sesame oil before serving.
Serving
  1. Ladle into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to a month. Reheat on the stove over low heat.
