Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your 9x13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisk until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until no streaks of flour remain—do not overmix!
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
Baking
- Bake for 28-32 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
Drizzle with caramel sauce for extra indulgence. These bars stay fresh for about 1 week in the fridge, or can be frozen for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
