Ingredients
  

For the Brownies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 unit zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice Fresh lemon juice is recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let cool completely.
Glazing
  1. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled brownies, slice, and serve.

Notes

Serve warm for a gooey texture or chilled for a firmer bite. Keep leftovers in the fridge for about a week or freeze for up to three months.
