Ingredients
  

For the sandwich
  • 4 pieces Italian bread or hoagie rolls
  • 2 cups Lettuce Shredded or whole leaves
  • 1 cup Tomatoes Sliced
  • 1 medium Onion Thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini Sliced
  • 1/2 cup Olives Sliced
  • 6 slices Salami
  • 6 slices Ham
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
For the dressing
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Red wine vinegar
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the Italian bread or hoagie rolls in half lengthwise.
  2. Layer the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncini, olives, salami, ham, and provolone cheese inside the bread.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar, then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Close the sandwich and press down gently.
  5. Slice and serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

Letting the sandwich sit for a few minutes before slicing helps the flavors meld together. Serve with potato chips or a garden salad for crunch. Store leftovers in the fridge for 1-2 days.
