  • 1 cup apple cider Reduced
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter Melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
  • ½ cup sugar For tossing
  • 1 tsp cinnamon For tossing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the apple cider in a saucepan until it reduces by half.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and the reduced apple cider.
  4. Gently mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Cover the mixture and chill for about 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Roll the chilled dough and cut it into the desired donut shapes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the donuts until they are golden brown.
  3. While warm, toss the fried donuts in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
