Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 3.5 cups 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 0.25 cup ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Filling
  • 0.5 cup ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional) Optional for extra indulgence
For the Frosting
  • 8 oz 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tbsp 2-4 tbsp milk (to adjust consistency) Use to achieve desired frosting consistency

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Mix in warmed milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla. Knead until smooth.
Prepare the Filling
  1. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. If using, add mini chocolate chips for an extra indulgent touch.
Roll and Assemble
  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and then roll it up tightly.
  2. Slice into rolls.
Bake the Rolls
  1. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise.
  2. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until bubbly and golden.
Make the Frosting
  1. Beat softened cream cheese and butter together.
  2. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk for a smooth consistency.
Frost and Serve
  1. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls and watch everyone swoon!

Notes

For best results, let the dough rise until it doubles in size. Sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar on top before baking for added flavor!
