  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Microwave or bake to heat
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar Light or dark
  • 1/2 cup butter Salted or unsalted, softened
  • 2-4 tbsp milk Add more or less as needed
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt Omit if using salted butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Preparation
  1. Microwave the flour in 20-second intervals until it reaches 165℉, about 40-60 seconds. Alternatively, bake it on a baking sheet in a 350℉ oven for 3-5 minutes. Whisk or sift to remove any lumps and let it cool.
  2. Cream the butter with both sugars in a bowl using a mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the flour, vanilla, and salt. Then add milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach that perfect creamy consistency.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula or spoon.

Notes

Chill the dough before serving if you prefer a firmer texture. You can also swap chocolate chips for M&Ms or nuts, use a mix of sugars for balance, and add sea salt for extra flavor.
