Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the French bread into thick slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread slices, ensuring they are well soaked.
- Cover and let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and custardy.
- Once baked, sprinkle sugar over the top and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden and crunchy.

Notes
Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through. You can assemble it a day in advance and refrigerate.
