Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups apple cider Use fresh, locally-sourced cider for best flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons caramel sauce Store-bought is fine; choose a good quality.
  • 2 sticks cinnamon sticks For flavoring the cider.
  • 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg Add to taste.
  • whipped cream Optional for topping.
  • caramel drizzle Optional for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather your apple cider, caramel sauce, cinnamon sticks, and nutmeg. Make sure everything is measured out and ready to go.
Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan, pour in 4 cups of apple cider. Add 2 cinnamon sticks and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. This should take about 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and whisk in 4 tablespoons of caramel sauce. Stir until fully incorporated, ensuring the caramel melts smoothly into the cider.
  3. Add a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg and stir. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more caramel sauce if desired.
Serving
  1. Ladle the cider into mugs, top with whipped cream, and drizzle with additional caramel sauce for a pretty finish. Add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for extra flair if you’d like.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the cider in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days. Warm up on the stove before indulging again. For a fun variation, turn this cider into a Caramel Apple Cider Cocktail by adding a splash of your favorite whiskey or spiced rum.
