  • 1 cup buttermilk Key for tenderizing

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For Frying and Serving

  • Gravy (optional)
  • Mashed potatoes (optional)
  • Green beans (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge in the flour mixture.
  3. Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side.
