- Core and slice the fresh apples.
- In a large pot, combine the sliced apples, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange slices.
- Add enough water to cover the apples halfway and bring to a boil.
Cooking
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours, mashing the apples with a potato masher occasionally.
- After 2 hours, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher.
- Sweeten with sugar if desired. Taste it first before adding.
- Serve hot or chill for a refreshing drink.
Notes
