Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted For brushing on top before baking

Method
 

Preparing the Dough
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast, then let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Baking the Breadsticks
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick and cut it into strips.
  3. Place the strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with marinara sauce for dipping. Store in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze individually for up to 2 months. For best results, reheat in a preheated oven.
