  • to taste Salt and pepper
For Cooking
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • to taste Olive oil For searing.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lay the flank steak flat on a cutting board and pound it to an even thickness.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the flank steak.
  5. Roll the steak tightly and secure it with kitchen twine or toothpicks.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the rolled steak on all sides until browned.
  2. Pour marinara sauce into a baking dish and place the seared steak rolls on top.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven, let rest, and slice into rounds to serve.

Notes

Tips: Allow the steak to rest after baking to let juices redistribute. For a kick, add red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mix. For variations, use plant-based meat for a vegan option or add sliced mushrooms or spinach to the stuffing.
