  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Make sure they are super ripe for more sweetness.
  • 2 cups rolled oats Can substitute with quick oats for a softer texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Optional, adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1/2 cup nuts or chocolate chips Optional for added texture and flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances the sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional for extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the oats, cinnamon, salt, honey/maple syrup, nuts or chocolate chips, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until combined.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

These bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3-4 days or refrigerated for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to three months.
