  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the apple cider, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. Stir until just mixed.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, optionally with a dusting of powdered sugar or a glaze.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter—it's okay to have a few lumps. For variations, try adding chopped nuts, caramel sauce, or swapping some apple cider for pumpkin puree.
