Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
- In a saucepan, bring the apple cider to a boil and reduce until it’s about ¾ cup.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and the reduced apple cider.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Pipe or spoon the batter into your greased donut pan, leaving some room for them to rise.
Baking
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling
- Let them cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or a light cinnamon-sugar coating. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for 2-3 months.
