Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan.
- In a saucepan, simmer the apple cider until it's reduced to about 1/2 cup. Let that cool.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, mix the sugars, milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and the reduced cider.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. A few lumps are fine.
- Fill your donut pan cavities about 3/4 full.
Baking
- Bake for 12-14 minutes.
- While the donuts bake, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
- After removing them from the oven, dip each donut in melted butter and then coat with the sugar mixture.
Notes
Serve warm for the best experience, and enjoy with coffee or tea. Can drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze for up to a month.
