Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon For batter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup apple cider Fresh is best
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating
  • 1/4 cup sugar For coating
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon For coating

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the apple cider, sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut mold about halfway with the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. While the donuts are baking, mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a bowl for coating.
Serving
  1. Let the donuts cool for a few minutes, then toss them in the cinnamon sugar.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy with a cup of coffee.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature. Freeze for longer storage.
