Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking. Grease a donut pan. If frying, heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine apple cider, melted butter, and egg. Mix this into the dry ingredients until just combined.
Cooking
- For baked donuts, fill each mold in the donut pan and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- For fried donuts, drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove donuts and coat them in cinnamon sugar while they are still warm.
