Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the apple cider, granulated sugar, applesauce, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Baking
- Fill each donut mold about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan.
- Roll the warm donuts in cinnamon sugar to coat and serve immediately.
Notes
Best enjoyed warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or in the fridge for about a week. Reheat before serving.
