  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Pepper
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 packet Brown gravy mix
  • 3 medium Potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Cheese (optional) Add in the last 10 minutes of baking for a melted finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix well and form into patties.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the patties on both sides.
  4. Layer the patties in a baking dish.
  5. In a bowl, mix beef broth and brown gravy mix, then pour over the patties.
  6. Slice potatoes thinly and arrange them on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. If using cheese, add it during the last 10 minutes of baking.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy your hearty meal!

Notes

This dish keeps well in the fridge for 3-4 days and can be frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
