Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix well and form into patties.
- In a large skillet, brown the patties on both sides.
- Layer the patties in a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth and brown gravy mix, then pour over the patties.
- Slice potatoes thinly and arrange them on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- If using cheese, add it during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Serve hot and enjoy your hearty meal!
Notes
This dish keeps well in the fridge for 3-4 days and can be frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
