Preparation
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
- Mix in vanilla.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Cooking
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Pipe small lengths of dough onto parchment paper and freeze for 10-15 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place churro bites in the basket, making sure they are not touching.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
- Toss churro bites in the sugar mixture immediately after cooking. Serve warm.
Notes
These churro bites are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored for about 2-3 days in the fridge in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze them for up to a month and reheat in the air fryer.
