Deliciously crispy churro bites made quickly in an air fryer, coated in cinnamon sugar for a sweet treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients
  

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating
  • 1/2 cup sugar for coating
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for coating
For Frying
  • 1 can cooking spray

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  2. Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  5. Mix in vanilla.
  6. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pipe small lengths of dough onto parchment paper and freeze for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place churro bites in the basket, making sure they are not touching.
  4. Air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  5. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Toss churro bites in the sugar mixture immediately after cooking. Serve warm.

Notes

These churro bites are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored for about 2-3 days in the fridge in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze them for up to a month and reheat in the air fryer.
